REVITALIZATION OF SZEMBEKA SQUARE

PROJECT: MALINOWSKI DESIGN URBAN & LANDSCAPE
REALIZATION: 2013
FUNCTION: public space
INVESTOR: City of Warsaw
AREA: 1,5 ha
DATE: 2011
PROJECT TEAM: Dariusz Malinowski, Michał Kaczmarczyk, Michał Szaruga, Michał Jaworski
ABOUT: The aim of the project was to revitalize the very important part of Warsaw’s district – Praga, to create a meeting place for the dwellers and a showcase for tourists (the square is located at Grochowska street, now the city’s major communication route). We managed to preserve the historic layout of the square. The space, enriched with the functions that the residents badly need, is now an urban square serving also as recreational green area for the neighbours.
